Cwmbran colliery

Cwmbran colliery was based along a seam of coal close to the surface, and so rather than mineshafts the coal was extracted using a surface adit (basically they just took the topsoil off and dug out the coal). The site now consists of a series of pools formed along the adit lines, and is a small nature trail, although there are industrial ruins further upstream.
