Little Mill brickworks
Behind the go-kart track that is on the site of the former Little Mill brickworks is a woodland. If you follow the slightly overgrown paths through the woods, heading east, you find yourself in an area of sudden hollows, steep slopes, watery channels and odd mounds, all obviously man-made. I rather suspect that these may be the remains of the Little Mill clay pits and workings, though there is little beyond the landforms and the brickworks that was known to be next to it to show for it.
I was in here before starting work at 2pm today, and my rather hurried exit, uphill and through brambles was not much fun. Serves me right for almost not leaving enough time to get back to the car. Good job work is only across the road from here, literally.
