Snails don't have red-eye

I've just finished another night-time safari in my garden, this time with the aid of my good friend Liz who is visiting. Liz held the torch and helped find things. We found lots, mainly spiders that will be used for Arachtober. However, I couldn't resist sharing this snail which was climbing the house wall.

 

Odd angle caused purely by the contortions of getting close to it with the extension tube on the camera.
