Waiting At the Kerb: Lockdown 2

We’re waiting for the Number 9

We hope it’s on its way

It used to be here every hour

But now? Just twice a day

 

We really mustn’t miss it

Or we’ll be here for hours

We haven’t brought our raincoats

And the forecast is for showers

 

We should be Christmas shopping

But the shops they all are closed

Lockdown 2 has bitten

Not for us new clothes

 

But we have our annual check up

The dentist we must see

I hope I don’t need treatment

As then it’s hard to eat my tea.

 

So we’ll wait until the ‘9’ is here

As the dentist waits for me

And we mustn’t miss the last bus back

That leaves at half past three.
