8a Ghost town - Fengdu
While we were cruising, workers tried to pass a cable from one bank to the opposite bank of the river. The cable accidentally damaged our ship’s communication tower. The chief engineer was summoned to come onboard our ship’s deck. Angry exchanges were heard, but I had no idea what they were talking about. I was afraid that our captain was going to shoot the poor man, which fortunately did not happen.
The ship’s itinerary included a tour at 2 p.m. of Fungdu, a ghost town. Because of the unfortunate incident, we were delayed six hours. By the time we arrived at Fungdu, it was dark. The staff had been notified of our delay, and were waiting for us. We had to take a cable car to get to the Ghost City. I was sure the ghosts would be very active at this time.
