Self-sufficiency on the Canal

This boat with a little wind generator looked odd - I wonder how efficient this would be and if they indeed would get energy enough from it to run their appliances on a breezy day...? It was rather environmentally UNfriendly having to run our engine a lot of the time when we were moored up.
