Non-verbal communication
None verbal communication is very important, especially you when animating. The reason for this is because none verbal animation is based both around facial emotions, hand gestures and overall body language. The cartoon “Tom & Jerry (1940
)” has no speaking between the cat, the mouse and majority of the character of the show. It uses only body languages, facial emotion and sound to define the emotion which is carried out. The cartoon give a great understanding to kids of what is happen in a scene as well as the character is thinking. When it comes to animating, their must a fine balance of body movement in which I mean to over-react every action done but it still keep its lifelike action and flow. The best way to overcome this is to study the actual body anatomy and how we ourselves move and turn our body.
