Classic Snow White Toddler 13'' Doll - Precious Moments - First Look - Lying Down Next to Doll Stand - Full Front View

Snow White is laid down on a counter so we can inspect her various features. Here she is next to the disassembled doll stand.

My brand new Classic Snow White Toddler 13'' Doll by Precious Moments. She was bought on December 29, 2013 from the World of Disney Store in Downtown Disney, Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California. She was $49.95, plus $5.95 for a doll stand. She comes in a plastic bag, inside of a cardboard box that the Cast Member assembled for me as if I had ordered take-out food. The Precious Moment toddler dolls have generic faces, but they are very cute. However, the reason I decided to buy her and her companion Prince Charming doll was that the outfits were very well made and were based on the movie characters' clothing. According to the manufacturer's notes, the doll is not a toy, is for ages 14+, and is made for collectors, for display only. That is probably due to the delicate nature of the outfits, and the relative lack of articulation.

She has a round head, with chubby cheeks and rudimentary features. She has tear drop shaped dark brown eyes, that are actually concave rather than convex in the face molding. The shading of the iris gives the illusion that her eyes are rounded and shiny, especially in photographs. She has two tiny eyelashes over each eye, and tiny eyebrows, all of which are red. She has a small button nose, and a small bright pink mouth, that is actually just a single line in a smile. Her cheeks are lightly rouged. Her skin tone is a light tan flesh tone, which is actually darker than most of the dolls that I own, rather than the pale tone that Snow White should have. The Prince has the same tone.

Her hair is very dark brown, that I actually thought was black before I took her home and viewed her in bright lighting. It is in a shoulder length bob hair cut, with long straight bangs that cover almost all of her forehead. It is soft and smooth, and there doesn't appear to be any hair product in it. There is a very large red satin bow attached to her hair, but she is missing the ribbon wrapped around her hair.

Her body is 13'' high, and has five points of articulation. Her neck, shoulders and hips are all swivel joints that can only rotate about a single plane, so have limited posing possibilities. Her head rotates about a horizontal plane, and her arms about a vertical plane. The hips joints are at a considerable angle to the vertical, so she must splay her legs outward to sit down, much like the Disney Animators' Collection dolls. She is fairly stable free standing. But for displaying her or for photographing her standing up, it is much better to use a doll stand, which is why I bought the optional stands, which are very sturdy and custom built for the Precious Moments toddler dolls.

Her costume is based on Snow White's iconic Princess outfit. It is more elaborate and also modified to be worn by a toddler doll. Her bodice is dark blue satin, with a high white satin collar. Instead of gold trim down the middle of the bodice, there is false lacing with white and red satin ribbons. It is tied into a bow at the waist, and the ends hang down from there almost to the hemline of the skirt. There are puffy short sleeves made of light blue satin, with dark blue cuffs and a center panel of red satin. Attached to the top of the back of the bodice by snap closures is the over-sized cape. It is two sided velvet, with blue on the outside and red on the inside, matching the movie cape. The multi-layered skirt is a pale yellow color very close to that of the movie. First is the sheer overskirt of pale yellow organza, then the pale yellow satin skirt, then white tulle petticoat. All three layers are about an inch longer than floor length and are very full. So it more suited to a ball gown than the simple, flowing shorter skirt worn by the movie character. The skirt and bodice are sewn together, and have a long Velcro closure in the back. Under the skirt are pale yellow bloomers. She is wearing plain white flat shoes with false straps over the ankles, that is much different than the pale yellow medium heeled shoes, with a bow decoration, worn by the movie's Snow White.

Overall, I really like the look of this Snow White doll. She is wearing a costume that is appropriate for a toddler, yet that is elaborate and royal looking. Her face isn't much like the movie character, but she looks very cute, very young, and very cartoon-like.
