Photographed and written by the distant relation of the Queen, Ashley Hicks, this is the penultimate photo collection of the famed palace's interiors.
Pictured here is Edward VII's throne from his 1902 coronation, now located in the Ballroom. The embroidery behind is from one of the largest shows of imperial power, the 1911 Delhi Durbar. It was taken from the Imperial Shamiana, the marquee-like canopy that had stood over the King-Emperor and Queen-Empress.
