DFU factory at Figgjo was built in 1905.
Before the second world war they produced they produced wool socks, thermal underwear, other knit goods, sports clothing and some swimsuits in this factory.
“Figgjo swimsuits” was some of the finest that in Norway produced in the 50’s and the 60’s. This factory was the conductive swimsuit manufacturer in Norway and experimented both with strong colors, creative, cut and different fabrics.
At the most there was 220 people working at this factory, and it was closed down in 1981.
