Butterfly Bed & Breakfast 2 - Parallel 3D

The other day around dusk I came across what seemed like an evening resting place for butterflies. There were about 10 - 12 butterflies all resting at and around the same area of weeds in our one horse pasture. One weed in particular had quite a few butterflies clinging to it when I first got there, but as I got closer for some images a couple flew away as usual :^( . . . but most remained, so I snapped a few nice images.

I got a closer shot of the 5 butterflies on this one plant that didn't fly away with some of the others I must have frightened as I got closer.

All the butterflies consisted of cabbage white (Pieris rapae) and clouded sulpher (Colias philodice) species, which are very closely related.

First time for me to come across a large amount of resting butterflies on our property . . . glad I decided to take a walk around the pastures just before sunset that day! :^)
