Waterproof?

I dropped some water on the floor of the histopathology lab at work. Amazingly the water didn't flow. Instead it formed these rounded up beads which made a beautiful pattern on the floor. Apparently, the floors of such labs are made so hydrophobic that anything aqueous in nature doesn't flow. Think it helps them clean up blood and other stuff they work with better if it drops!
