Blue Ball Yard
This view looks at 9-18 and 20, Blue Ball Yard, a Grade II listed structure in St James's, London. They were built in 1741-42, but have subsequently been altered. They are constructed of brown brick with a tiled roof.
The L-plan range has two storeys, 10 windows long with a three-window return at the far end having a dormered attic. The former stabling on the ground floor is much altered for garages and office use. There is a continuous balcony on wood brackets to the first floor with access by external stairs. - Historic England
As far as I can determine, the range of tables and chairs behind the potted plants and sunshades are part of the American Bar in the Stafford Hotel at the end of the street. The hotel was used by Americans, Canadians and Free French during World War II and the walls of the bar are covered with pictures, photographs and other historic memorabilia all donated by guests over the years. Prices apparently reflect that and the quality of service...
