My Own World

Th reason I named this "My Own World" is because in this photo I wanted to show that I like to play the harp and harp it music. When I play music it's like I've created my own little world that no one else can understand, its kind of like a connection. This was a project for class and it was on self portraits, to show who we really are. At first I wanted to take it on stage in a theater with a single light shinning on me to show that the arts represent me. But instead, since the lights weren't working at school I chose the harp/music. Music is a big part of my life because I practice a lot and I really enjoy playing music or listening. This photo took awhile, and it took my awhile to get comfortable with the camera and taking a photo of myself. The reason for this is because I don't particularly like taking photos of myself and showing them off to people, it makes me feel awkward. I had to make the lighting all right, I chose the wait until mid day because then I have the light hitting behind me or from the sit and so it wouldn't be dark. This took awhile because I had a black certain behind me as a back drop and that was much easier form when I tried it with no back drop. With out it it made me a isolate or just really dark and so when I tried to use the flash it didn't look good at all. Then I moved everything out of the front room for when I moved my harp in and the bench. I made the camera take multiple photos on a timer and just started to play hoping that one will be good. I turned my ISO high because the room didn't have much colour or the camera wasn't giving it any. My fingering position wasn't correct so it wasn't realistic but thats okay, not many people will notice. I didn't use any effects on it either.
