The Sandburg Mall opened in Galesburg IL on 10/1/1974. It was built by General Growth Properties which owned the mall up until the late nineties. Since that time the mall has been in constant decline. Sears left the mall in late 2014. With Kmarts departure the mall only has two other anchors JCPenney and Bergners.
