More fecking about with FEK 3F
Further to other photos of Wigan Corpy 27, here is FEK 3F on arrival at the Wigan Transport Trust's site in January 2020.
We unfortunately missed out on The Bus when it was auctioned several years ago. An engine failure shortly after the sale meant that it would never reach the successful bidder in France.
It seems to have passed through a few hands and lost bits along the way. Now the engine bay is almost as empty as the interior.
This bus, numbered 27 in the Wigan fleet, was from the last batch of Titans ordered by Wigan Corporation in 1967, all 9 were delivered the following year and fitted with Massey bodies.
Following FEK 3F's chassis off the production line (assuming Leyland's production line order is the same as the chassis number order) were just 12 more PD2s. These were the remainder of the Wigan order and a final six for Darwen Corporation. The 21 year run of PD2 production was over. Massey Brothers themselves were taken over by Northern Counties in 1967.
