Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus)
This little beauty came and perched on the balcony next to ours at the cottage we stayed at in Dorset. It had been around for a few minutes on a distant roof before it came over to us and I managed to take this shot. I'm guessing that it's a juvenile (it didn't appear too sure of itself) or it might be a female - I've never seen one this close before.
Or it might be something else entirely.......
If anyone can enlighten me I'd be grateful!
