Vampire Skaven General CU 08

Ok, so I've finally gotten more of my Skaven-with-Vampire-Counts-pact army to a stage I'm happy with sharing. If this is the first you've heard of it, I decided to start a Skaven army with a Vampire Counts pact for Storm of Magic - all of the Undead however are going to be Skaven, tied together with a common colour scheme (purples, reds and lots of rusted metals).

 

The new Skaven models are blinding, especially Warlord Queek which is in my opinion one of the most dynamic models GW have ever made. As soon as the model was released in Finecast I knew I had to have one to be my Vampire Count-come-Skaven General.

 

I won't bore you with the paint job (unless you ask me to), but here's the parts I used for the conversion work: The main body is Queek, with the shield from the 2011 Games Day Skaven model; the back banner is pieced together from a banner and streamers from Island of Blood skaven models; and the brazier is from the Screaming Bell kit. The branches are dryad limbs, while the leaves on the base are specialist modelling supplies.

 

Also, due to an airbubble in the finecast I had to resculpt the front legs of the little rat in front, so I decided to give him a bit of cheese that he's running away from the mob with, to add a little humour and undermine the seriousness of the piece :3
