Tunnel Tower
To the east of the former Gisburn Station is a railway tunnel with ornamental stone portals which was built at the insistence of Lord Ribblesdale who would not allow the railway to pass through the grounds of Gisburne Park unless underground. The spelling of Gisburne changed to Gisburn when the Railway Company argued that many hours each year could be saved by so doing. The railway opened in 1885.
