Up Up And Away..... Lexington, VA Annual Balloon Rally and 4th Of July Celebration
A little while back one of my contacts, deanrr, posted some photos from a hot air balloon festival. I loved them, and thought if I ever had the chance I wanted to get some shots of hot air balloons! Well....I got my chance :) There was a hot air balloon festival in Lexington, Va over the long 4th of July weekend. it's only an hours drive from Roanoke.
We got up and left the house at 5:30 on Thursday and drove to Lexington, much to our disappointment the weather was not conducive for the balloons to take flight :( We headed back home. Friday we were too busy to make the drive. BUT my husband looked on the web site and saw that they were planning a 6am launch for this morning. Which meant I had to drag myself out of bed at 4AM!!! SO WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11 hot air balloons all made it into the air! I have lots of photos and am working my way through them this afternoon :)
