Africa suffers but also lives.
Africa is known for its famine, deadly diseases, extreme misery, natural disasters, and devastating wars. No doubt these problems are part of Africa’s daily life, but we tend to forget that there is also LIFE in Africa. Perhaps we are saturated with the endless images of suffering published by the media and overlook this other reality.
Africa is a misunderstood continent, doomed, one to feel pity for, hopeless. My experience of Africa is very different. People face life with contagious energy. It is a continent where every corner emanates LIFE.
The objective of “LIFE in Africa” is to illustrate another African reality, one which goes beyond generalizations. The exhibition takes us to different corners of the African continent (Sierra Leone, Morocco, Sudan, South Africa, Angola and Mozambique) depicting what LIFE in Africa is to me.
