The Cave Environment
College of the Atlantic Students Eli Mellen and Julie Olbrantz transformed an upstairs bathroom at The Naturalist's Notebook into a darkened cave, complete with homemade rocks, stalactites, stalagmites and bats. They turned one wall into a black chalkboard on which visitors could do "cave paintings" in chalk, and the result was a wonderful succession of illustrations. This is a 2011-12 installation.
