SS Montgomery
The SS Montgomery in the Thames Estuary, It ran aground when its anchor slipped one night towards the end of WWII. It was full of munitions and posed a danger so work started to empty its cargo but the cargo started to moved and it was considered to dangerous to continue. At the time it was considered that if it exploded it would have taken out half of Kent and Essex. There are differing ideas as to its current state, some say the explosives would not now be a problem, some disagree.
