Stranger #1

This is Mark, he is a 57(soon to be 58) year old homeless man living in downtown Portland. His favorite food is shrimp and he says its probably because he doesn't get it very often. He doesn't like Portland because he thinks people are insensitive and don't care about others enough. He has been robbed of 14 backpacks containing all of his belongings this year alone. He plans to move to Seattle sometime, hopefully soon, where he has some friends. He has constant bruises on the tops of his forearms because he sleeps on them at night since he does not have a pillow. One of his hobbies is talking to people - he likes psychology a lot. If he could change one thing about today's world, he would stop the wars(he specifically referenced the wars that America is fighting). A dream he has is to fly a helicopter.

 

I was originally going to do this project solely on homeless people, but many did not want me to take their picture or talk to me and some were not totally sober, so I decided I would open it up to anybody in Portland.
