A large crowd wait to join the two coaches forming the 17.15 to Longford on 02.10.1998.
Monday - thursday, this train would be formed by a rake of cravens stock, but being a friday, this rake had already been used for the 17.05 FO to Sligo, which was 073. With very little spare coaching stock, this was the regular seen for the friday Longford train. The plus side was that with the "071" working the Sligo, the Longford was a good candidate for either a "121" or a "141".
131 was a good choice for me as it was my last serviceable "121" for haulage!
