STATUA DI GIULIO CESARE CON IL DUOMO
Davanti alla facciata principale del Comune di Cividale del Friuli è collocata dal 1935 la statua di Giulio Cesare, fondatore della cittadina ducale. E’ copia bronzea di un’opera in marmo di epoca Traianea conservata al Campidoglio a Roma.
Il dono regale della statua che il Duce ha voluto offrire alla città di Cividale ha un doppio significato: solenne ringraziamento e riconsacrazione della romanità del classico Forum Iuli, monito severo ai nemici d’Oltralpe.

STATUE OF JULIUS CAESAR WITH THE CATHEDRAL
The statue of Julius Caesar, founder of the ducal town, has been placed in front of the main façade of the Municipality of Cividale del Friuli since 1935. It is a bronze copy of a marble work from the Trajan era preserved in the Capitoline Hill in Rome.
The royal gift of the statue that the Duce wanted to offer to the city of Cividale has a double meaning: solemn thanks and rededication of the Romanness of the classic Forum Iuli, a severe warning to the enemies beyond the Alps.
