Access to all the buildings is prohibited unless on guided tours. Orford Ness Nature Reserve is the largest vegatated shingle spit in Europe & an important site for breeding & migrating birds.
From 1913 to 1980's it was used as a military test site & closely guarded to protect public access. Top secret experiments were conducted there during both World Wars and into the nuclear age.Please don't use this image on websites, blogs or other media without my explicit permission.
