Sand Point Lighthouse
Sand Point Lighthouse on Little Bay de Noc in Escanaba on the south shore of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Built in 1867, it was used as a lighthouse until about 1940 and then remodeled as a Coast Guard residence after that. Delta County took over the building in the 1980s, completed a restoration and opened the lighthouse back to the public in 1990. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
