Ionic Strength

The south front of the Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville. Constructed in the Greek Revival style between 1845 and 1859, the structure is a National Historic Landmark (1971) and is on the National Register of Historic Places (1970). One of only a few state capitols that lacks a true dome, this building has what is described as a "lantern" structure that was encased in scaffolding on this visit.
