what's for dinner?

Our destination this past Sunday was Gaudineer Scenic Area or as we call it "The Fairy Forest". It is only 140 acres (57 ha) but it is the most special place! Located just 5 miles northwest of Durbin, (the town that grows the tiniest grasshoppers) it is within the boundaries of the Monongahela National Forest. Everything is covered in moss (and I mean Everything) One has the feeling that if one were to sit down for any length of time they too would become covered in it. Indeed, I saw two large mushrooms being devoured by it! To walk on it is like walking on a big sponge. We took a small trail off the main one and came upon this old camping area. I guess that is one sturdy grill! LOL We've only come here three times and are never disappointed in this place or the atmosphere. It's quiet. It's magical. The first time we came there was a thunderstorm brewing and Anita was frightened. The second time we came there was snow on the ground and this time the weather was perfection. Cool, sunny and no humidity! Looking forward to our next visit for sure! :)
