hanging on, the struggle is real

I saw this tree on our last back road outing and was struck by a couple of things. I noticed how the roots of the tree had grown, fitting themselves around the rocks in the ground to reach the nourishment they needed to grow the tree. But it grew on the riverbank and when the floods came, it washed all the life giving dirt away leaving only the rocks and the tree desperately clinging to the rocks...... The tenacity of life is amazingly incredible!
