The hive is so distant today

(A gazillion wing beats one way)

And have you seen the webs of late

(Lost Jane this morning, a good mate)

I honestly don't usually shirk

(But lately it's work, work, work)

I'd hoped to avoid being seen

(Please I beg you don't tell the Queen)

She's such a hard taskmaster

(Quick, hurry, faster, faster)

You would think it was late fall

(With the urgency put on all)

In the sun just one more minute

(And then I'll get right back to it)
