Ellenroad Mill Boilerhouse.
Only the right hand boiler is complete, the left one is just the front plate. Manufacturer was Tinker and Shenton. The underfeed stoker in the pic is not original to the boiler, but came from an Oldham hospital. I couldn't persuade the lads to lob a few shovel fulls onto the fire so I could photograph the chimney top - they seemed very smoke-concious! There are plans afoot to convert this boiler back to a conventional grate. The insides of the furnace tubes were in excellent condition.
