Bird Behavior - Category Winner and People's Choice Winner, "Mommy, I'm Hungry"
Photo by Binu John. This photo of a Pied-billed Grebe family was taken at Sandy Wool Lake in Ed Levin County Park, Milpitas, California. I was eager to see them after I heard of their presence from one of my friends. The next weekend, in the early morning, I located them and laid on the ground, slowly crawling towards the lake in anticipation of capturing interactions between mother and young at their level. Within the next couple hours, I was able to obtain this interesting feeding moment.
