Point Arena Jackpot.
While I have paid a visit to Point Arena a few times over the years on my visits to California, my efforts never seemed to produce acceptable results. On my last visit, the light tower had been totally sandblasted and was a concrete color as it was receiving a makeover.
The weather forecast for the day of this visit also called for mostly cloudy skies and a chance of rain. When I arrived early in the afternoon I was greeted by sun with the clouds being just inland off the shore. That changed later on when the cloud cover backed back over the water but I decided to wait for the sun to dip below them. After about an hour and a half wait I was greeted with this view. I am glad I stuck around.
