Pawpaw sketches (Fall and Spring branch ends)
Took cut pawpaw branches to watercolor class today and noticed the leaves may reorient themselves depending on how they're placed in the vase and lit. That sent me to the pawpaws again after class to see how the leaves arrange themselves on the tree. Took lots of photos; after only two days there are lots fewer leaves and fruit clusters. Looking at the photos when I got home, I noticed how leaves that dominated the twig end in the spring, with a bit of competition from an emerging flower, by fall are subordinate to the fruit (a whole cluster grew from one blossom) hanging from what is now a hefty stem.
