This photo that Walter Woolfenden had taken in the middle of the night is quite intresting. Having got the proofs back to look at , Walter asked the photographer to highlight the jib of the right hand crane, this being the Lorain MC 824 I think belonging to Walter, so it stood out more boldly against the other machine that belonged to Sparrows Crane Hire of Bristol. (Lorain MC 9115) .When you blow the picture up into the largest format flickr will allow, you can see that the photo has been touched up. Also of intrest on the right hand side of the photo is the man standing on the platform with his back against what looks like a large sink plunger, it is infact the bottom of a platform light which has also been very carefully touched out of the picture, which would have obscured the rear of the crane body, this also has had to be touched back in. The picture itself shows the two cranes placing concrete beams into position for a new road bridge over the station platforms on what was obviously a night possesion of the railway tracks, location at present is unknown. The date is 1967, not a hard hat in sight and it rained all night, there were workers standing on the lifts and Walters footnote to the photo was, How did we get away with it and no Accidents.
