In about 1975, the society up graded the lighting. Out went the footlights, in came a suspended lighting bar (we hired the actual lights at first from Blackpool) and in the gantry, the old system was (for a short while) replaced with one of these, which we got second hand from a school in Preston ( I think) I hated it. No character like the old system.
