1252 Galilee north shore churches

the two churches of the Galilean shore. The Church of the Multiplication, at left, is the one built over the stone where Christ sat and distributed the multiplied bread and fish. The center church is the Church of St. Peter's Primacy, where He made breakfast for His fishermen. It is where Jesus asked Peter "do you love me?" three times in succession. In ancient middle eastern writing, the ritualistic presentation of three consecutive repetitions is metaphoric, and it means "this happened often". It probably does not literally mean that Jesus asked him the same question three consecutive times.
