BPD Awareness Month - prejudice
For Borderline Personality Disorder Awareness Month.
Society needs those who are different. It needs those who are suffering. It needs those who are brokenly fumbling for answers. When it denies that such people are human, it denies its own humanity.
Not to say that there aren't many other forms of evil that corrode humanity, such as greed and rage. But when I think of all the darkness that has been brought to the world through prejudice, I realize anew how unacceptable it is. I'm also not claiming that mentally ill people don't make mistakes. But it seems to me that being flawed simply puts them on the same level as any other human being.
