View-from-Oxers-Lookout,Karijini-NP
Oxers Lookout is an amazing vantage point where 4 of the most spectacular gorges in Karijini National Park meet, being Weano, Hancock, Joffre and Red gorges. My personal favourites were Weano and Hancock - more from the depths of those gorges later :).
The area surrounding these gorges is quite flat and on the way in nothing really prepares you for how abruptly the land gives way to these gaping chasms!
Most photographs from this area of the lookout, focus more closely on the textured gorge wall and trees somehow surviving on them. I have that image and will most likely post it is well.
I have been inspired however by a recent post by "DBreezy", David Thomson (check it out here - www.flickr.com/photos/mrbarbosa2000/11048990086/) about creativity. It has been something I have been thinking more about - trying to capture an original viewpoint or incorporating original elements into a well known scene. It is I believe this originality that makes an image truly memorable.
That being said I will also continue to shoot the classics as well as their allure is very powerful!!
