• 1955 : Constructed as a KC-135A-BN and Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 55-3135.

• ???? : Converted to a JKC-135A. Fitted with 50 small windows for nuclear readiness testing.

• ???? : Converted to a NKC-135A and later NKC-135E.

• 28.SEP.2004 : Transferred to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC) with inventory number AACA0144 from the 412th Test Wing at Edwards AFB.

NB : The starbord leading edge and engine pylons/nacelles are painted black to avoid reflections when the plane was being used for astrographic tests
