Melmore Terrace

Upon the completion of the Clyde Dam in 1992, the valley behind the dam was flooded to create Lake Dunstan, loosing the original Cromwell village including the town centre, 280 homes, six farms and 17 orchards. To preserve the town's gold mining and pioneering past, dedicated volunteers moved the buildings from Cromwell's original town centre to higher ground and have since been restored as Old Cromwell Town.
