Washed Up IPA is the first batch brewed by the Cake Life Brewing Company, an offshoot from the Cake Life Collective. Each bottle comes with a free download code for the track "Watershed" by Zona Mexicana, part of the Cake Life Collective. Spikedriver Arts Collective coordinated design and production of this project. Colin Alexander is responsible for art and design.

COLIN ALEXANDER is a designer and painter from Ridgewood, New Jersey. He currently studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. On this label commissioned by the Cake Life Brewing Company, Colin was tasked to create a piece that embodied nautical themes, responded to the song “Watershed” by Zona Mexicana, and responded to the beer name “Washed Up.” From this point, he worked to create a piece that illustrated the violence of the ocean on the small scale and, at the same time, its placidity as a whole. When the individual is introduced to this relationship, they are forced to acknowledge their relative insignificance, which is a shock after a lifetime of being one’s own protagonist. - cargocollective.com/foxtooth
