Quesadillas in Valle del Maíz
Hungry anyone? In Valle del Maíz we can get a pure taste of México, as we walk into a small store and find these ladies making breakfast and lunch for customers, many of them regular. The quesadillas, my favorite ones, include, among others, cauliflower with cheese, sausage, ground meat, and potato with nopal. The environment is really nice, and if you get your quesadillas, do not forget to go by the molcajete (the black mortar and pestle made of volcanic rock) and add the spicy sauce made of hot pepper, jitomate (tomato), onion and garlic.
Si alguien tiene hambre, en el Valle del Maíz podemos llevarnos un puro sabor de México, al entrar a una pequeña tienda y encontrar a estas señoras preparando desayuno y almuerzo para los clientes, muchos de ellos habituales. Las quesadillas, mis favoritas, incluyen, entre otras, coliflor con queso, salchicha, picadillo y papa con nopal. El ambient es muy agradable, y si se compran las quesadillas, no olviden pasar por el molcajete (el mortero negro hecho de piedra volcánica) y añadir la salsa hecha de ají picante, jitomate, cebolla y ajo.
