Double Headed Black Fives on Entwistle Viaduct
On Sunday 4 August, 1968, Black Fives 44871 (now preserved) and 44894 head south over Entwistle Viaduct towards Bolton with 1Z78 a SLS railtour from Birmingham. This was one of a number of railtours which ran to mark the official end of steam operation on British Rail the previous day.
