Viewed from Mam na Gualainn, Stob Bàn may lack the sheer rocky precipices it boasts facing Glen Nevis, but it's pyramid form still catches the eye, nonetheless. Here, the low-angled morning sun reflects off it's south face, allowing it centre-stage lead role status over it's shadowy higher neighbour, Sgùrr a' Mhàim, beyond.
I was lucky, here, that the sun exerted a major influence on the scene, while significant amounts of nicely lit cloud cover added interest & drama to the sky element of the image. Clear blue skies never fail to lift the heart, but they often scupper the ideal visions held by the mind's-eye of a landscape photographer.
