Throwback Thursday (542)

This week we are going back eleven years to 2015 and to AV 219 at the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, with a service on route 238 to Ladyswell Road.

Route 238 started operating between the Blanchardstown Centre, Ladyswell Road and Corduff in 1996. It was one of a number of local routes that started that year in connection with the opening of the shopping centre. Initially these services were operated by mini-buses. In 2010 the route was modified under Network Direct to run from Ladyswell to Tyrrelstown via the Blanchardstown Centre. This was to partially replace 236 in Tyrrelstown. In 2019 Go-Ahead Ireland took over the operation of the route.

AV 219 was new to Dublin Bus in 2001. It was withdrawn in 2016 and sold on to another Irish operator.
