Throwback Thursday (541)

This week we are going back eleven years to 2015, and to AV 160 on a wet O'Connell Street with a service on route 122 to Ashington.

Route 122 started running between Drimnagh Road on the southside and Ashington on the northside in June 1998. This was a City Imp route that replaced previous route 22. It has been pretty consistent since then, although the routing in Rialto area was changed in 2011 following the end of route 19 under Network Direct, and the routing through Drimnagh was changed in 2025 with the launch of new route 73 under Bus Connects.

AV 160 was new to Dublin Bus in 2000. It was withdrawn in 2015 and sold on to another Irish operator. It became a tour bus for the 1916 Rising in 2016.

This bus stop on O'Connell Street closed when work started on the Luas Cross City line at the start of 2016.
