Throwback Thursday (536)

This week we are going back thirty-six years to 1990 and to D 576 parked on O'Connell Street in between trips on the open-top tour.

D 576 was new to CIE in 1974. It was initially based in Cork, but in 1985 it moved to Dublin. In 1990 it became an open-top tour bus, and was withdrawn in 1999. It was scrapped in 2000.

Dublin Bus started operated sightseeing tours around the capital in 1988. The "Dublin Heritage Trail" seen here started in 1990 and lasted a couple of years. Dublin Bus still operate tours today under the DoDublin brand.
